Message from the Executive Director

The year 2024–2025 stands as a meaningful chapter in the continuing work of the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE), reflecting both the urgency of today’s environmental challenges and the enduring strength of collective action in addressing them.

Throughout the year, FPE remained steadfast in its mission to support the protection of the Philippines’ natural environment through community-driven, rights-based, and sustainable approaches. Our programs and partnerships reinforced the importance of empowering local communities, Indigenous Peoples, and civil society organizations who serve as frontliners in environmental conservation and resource management.

I take pride in the Foundation’s continued role as a trusted partner—one that supports innovative solutions, strengthens institutional capacities, and fosters long-term impact across diverse ecosystems and landscapes. The initiatives undertaken during this period demonstrate how collaboration, inclusivity, and shared responsibility can translate into meaningful and lasting change.

These accomplishments were made possible through the dedication and professionalism of the FPE Management Team and Secretariat, whose commitment ensured the effective delivery of our programs. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Board of Trustees for their guidance and stewardship, and to our partners and stakeholders for their confidence and continued collaboration.

As FPE moves forward, it does so grounded in a strong institutional foundation and a clear sense of purpose. The work ahead remains both challenging and vital, but I am confident that the Foundation will continue to uphold its values and advance its mission in ways that are responsive, inclusive, and impactful.

It has been a privilege to contribute to FPE’s work and to engage with individuals and organizations united by a shared commitment to protecting the environment for present and future generations.
