Project Goals and Objectives

To contribute to theconservation and sustainable management of the two Key Biodiversity Areas (KBA #60 or the
San Vicente-Roxas-Taytay Forest Block and KBA #62 or the Cleopatra's Needle) in Palawan

Outputs and Outcomes

'- Biodiversity and resource research study in the 2 KBAs - 43,950 hectares of forest land delineated as protection and production areas 
- 16 local declaration for Locally Conserved Areas (LCA) 
- 7 local ordinances supporting forest conservation and mining ban
- At least 374 Households trained on sustainable and biodiversity production system and livelihood enterprise 
- At least 7 local/community land use plans 
- Reduced number of charcoal makers and gold panners particularly in the 7 new project areas
- At least 7 local/people's organization formed 
- At least 7 community managed savings and credit project (CMSCP) established 
- At least 16 eco-guards formed
