CALL FOR Layout Artist cum Illustrator for the UNDP SGP5 Model Stories Book
Terms of Reference
 
I. Rationale
 
The Foundation for the Philippine Environment, the first and largest grant-making organization for environmental projects in the Philippines, is the Responsible Party (RP) for the GEF-UNDP Small Grants Program-Operational Phase 5 (SGP5). As RP, FPE has documented key lessons from more than 40 SGP5-partners’ rich experiences in biodiversity conservation and biodiversity-friendly enterprises (BDFE), consolidated into four (4) model stories. SGP5 and FPE intends to publish and popularize this documentation into a 70-pager 8”x10” illustrated book to be used to raise awareness on SGP5 community experiences and best practices for distribution to national government agencies, local government units, business sector, CSOs and local communities.
 
The book of stories will be presented in a simple, easy-to-read design, and display catchy illustrations and infographics depicting the different model landscapes and seascapes evolved from SGP5 projects implementation across its 3-focus areas: Samar Island, Palawan and Sierra Madre Mountain Range. The book will highlight the following sites: Northern Samar, the Calamianes, the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR), and the Upper Sierra Madre Landscapes and Seascapes.
 
To undertake this, FPE-SGP5 is looking for an individual or a team of layout artist/illustrator who can successfully deliver the expected outputs below. 
 
II. Expected Outputs
  • Provide three layout studies for the cover, divider, and inside pages for FPE to choose from;
  • Create illustrations for a more visually appealing page design;
  • Revise the design and layout according to FPE-UNDP-SGP5 comments and suggestions; and,
  • A printer-ready laid out SGP5 Four Model Stories Book
 
III. Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in lay-outing and illustrating/designing communication and popular materials; and
  • Familiarity with the environmental or development sector.
 
IV. Timetable
 
The publication is for one month project, starting on August 25 to September 25, 2018, with output submission as follows:

VI. Remuneration
 
The project cost ranges from Php 55,000 to Php 70,000 inclusive of tax.
